Chuck Roast Barbecue

Ingredients

Peter's mom gave this to me... It's a McKellar fave!

1 2-2 ½ lb boneless trimmed chuck roast
2 medium onions, chopped

Make twice this for more sauce:
¾ c coca cola
¼ c Worcestershire sauce
1 t apple cider vinegar
2 cloves minced garlic
1 t beef bullion granules
½ t dry mustard
½ t chili powder
¼ t ground red pepper

½ c ketchup
2 t butter

Preparation

Combine cola and next 7 ingredients. Reserve ½ c (or 1 c if you made twice the sauce) in the fridge. Pour remaining mixture over roast & onion in crock pot. Cook on high for 6 hours. Drain & shred roast. Keep warm. Combine ½ c coke mixture, ketchup, butter, in small saucepan - cook on medium heat stirring constantly just until thoroughly heated. Pour over shredded roast stirring gently. Spoon onto buns. (I served next to mashed potatoes instead of on buns - yum!)
