Chocolate Malted Cookies

Ingredients

1 c packed brown sugar
6 T malted milk powder (such as Carnation)
5 T butter, softened
3 T chocolate syrup
1 T vanilla extract
1 large egg
2 c all-purpose flour
1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1/2 c milk chocolate chips (It doesn’t hurt to use a little more...)
1/3 c semisweet chocolate chips (again, more isn’t bad)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350.  Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl.  Beat with a mixer at medium speed for 2 minutes or until light and fluffy.  Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl, stir with a whisk.  Gradually add flour mixture to sugar mixture, beating at low speed until well blended.  Stir in chocolate chips.  Drob dough by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto baking sheets.  Bake at 350 for 10 minutes (I usually have to go about 12 minutes).  Cool on pans 2 minutes or until firm.  Remove and cool on wire racks.  Yield: 2 1/2 dozen cookies.  Fat: 3.9g per cookie.  Not bad!
